Language
The official languages of the Congress are English and Russian. All lectures and presentations will be held in English or in Russian, except for some sessions (only in Russian). Simultaneous translation will be provided.

How to Get to Tyumen
There is a constant air communication between Moscow and Tyumen. Local air companies provide up to 6 daily flights at different time of the day. For more detailed information please contact ICDS-2006 General Secretariat.

Currency Exchange
Russian currency is called “Ruble”. Notes come in denomination of 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Russian rubles. The exchange rate is about 30 Rub per 1 US dollar.

Tax & Tipping
Tipping is usually not customary in Russia, but it is appropriate for excellent service. In major tourist hotels, service charges are added to the bills for rooms, meals and other services.

Electricity
220 volts, 50 Hz, 2 pin round plugs. Always check the power supply before using equipment.


Time
Local Tyumen time differs from Moscow by +2 hours. Greenwich Mean Time +5 hours.


Shops
The shops are generally open from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm for a whole week. There are some 24-hour food shops.


Insurance
The Organizing Committee does not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are advised to have their own personal insurance policies.


Currency and Banking
There are a lot of local banks and branches of Moscow banks in Tyumen. You can obtain US dollars in cash by your credit and debit cards: Visa Card, Euro Card/Master Card (brokerage 3-4%).
You can also obtain US dollars, Euros or directly Russian rubles in cash by traveller’s cheques of American Express or VISA according to the current exchange rate. Brokerage is from 1% to 5% depending of the cheque's face value. You can exchange foreign currency in cash for Russian rubles in numerous exchange offices in airports, hotels, post offices and supermarkets.

Obtaining visa

Foreigners wishing to visit Russian Federation should obtain visa. This is a document, permitting your stay in Russia for a specific period of time. Visa can be obtained in the nearest Russian Embassy only on the official invitation, which we will be pleased to send you on request. Making the official invitation can only be possible if you provide us with the necessary information listed below:

• Photocopy of the vital information pages of your valid passport including photo (showing Name, Birth Date, Passport Number, Expiration Date).
• The filled out inquiry form, attached below.

Please note that the official invitation is granted by the
Passport-Visa Control Authority of the Department of Internal Affairs
of Tyumen region and it takes up to 30 days. That is why we kindly
ask you to send the required information to the General Secretariat in
advance via airmail, fax or e-mail (filled out inquiry form and scanned passport information).
