Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are greatly honored to invite you to participate in the 15th World Congress of the International Cardiac Doppler Society in conjunction with Russian National Conference on Cardiac Resynchronization and Cardioversion Defibrillation, which will be held in Tyumen, Russia on 24-26 May, 2006.
This meeting represents an ongoing educational task that was started enthusiastically by the pioneers of Doppler ultrasound techniques nearly twenty years ago. The International Cardiac Doppler Society (ICDS) was founded in 1984. Since that time its goals remain unchanged and include: advancing the understanding of Doppler ultrasound techniques, facilitating the diffusion of Doppler applications into clinical practice in a wide range of cardiovascular disorders, stimulating new promising developments, and promoting fruitful contacts between scientists and clinicians from a variety of disciplines spanning the spectrum of cardiovascular ultrasound. Initially created at a small meeting in Florida, ICDS now includes enthusiastic members from all over the world.
Various approaches for management of specific lesions will be discussed from a practical perspective. And while attendees update and refine their practical knowledge, leading to better care for their patients, they will also enhance their understanding of the underlying physical and physiological principles that guide the applications of cardiovascular ultrasound. Significant emphasis will be placed on the most recent developments in echo-Doppler techniques. During this three-day meeting, productive discussions between attendees and faculty members will be developing in a warm, cordial and friendly atmosphere, which has been a consistent aspect of ICDS scientific meetings.
Tyumen, the gate of Siberia, is the capital of the oil and gas region. It includes a striking blend of modern buildings and ancient mansions and churches, which witnessed the very beginning of the great exploration of this rugged but fertile region. You will never forget its simple natural beauty, exotic Siberian spring and well-known Russian hospitality.
We do hope for your active participation in this meeting, which combines excellent scientific and exciting social programs.
Look forward to seeing you in Tyumen in May 2006!
Yours Sincerely,
